First Iceland Lupines

Anastasia Arteyeva and I started our 2nd Iceland Tour in June 2025 with trip an hour west of Reykjavik to shoot at a Geothermal Site....or so we thought! We winded up lost in the mountains on a dead end gravel road. As we backtracked, we came upon our first field of lupine flowers on the hillsides. We were so enthralled with the remoteness and beauty of our surroundings that we stopped to do some shooting. As we would later discover, lupines are prolific throughout Iceland in June and we would find other more impressive and massive fields as far as the eye could see. So, as I started editing, I was not too enthused with this location compared to our other finds. But then I saw the magic of her poses. We were shooting closer to capture her vs. the massive landscapes of the other sites. Then the way I edited them made for some lovely portraits. So in the end, our first little field starts the story of things to come.
